Help us deliver critical eye care services to Grenada
Please help support our annual Eyecare mission in Grenada this year. Grenada has one of the highest occurrences of cataract and glaucoma diseases in the western hemisphere. The Alliance of Jamaican and American Humanitarians (AOJAH) is sponsoring a free 1-week eyecare mission in Grenada from April 12-18, 2025. Your donation will help us cover some of the costs for medical equipment, medications, supplies, glasses and shipping. Our 30+ volunteers will be donating their time during the Easter holidays, in addition to paying their own airfare and hotel accommodations, in order to help provide this critical service. Your donation will ensure that they will have everything they need to deliver optimal care to their patients. AOJAH is a US based non-profit organization that has been conducting free medical and eyecare clinics in Jamaica for over 12 years. Last year, for the first time, we expanded our services to include Grenada and the response from the over 1,200 patients we saw was overwhelming. This year we will include cataract surgeries, in addition to the optometry services we provided last year. Grenada’s Ministry of Health has ranked eye care as one of their top areas of focus and our mission last year confirmed those concerns. The services to be provided free of charge include:
- cataract surgeries
- eye screenings to include exams and diagnosis
- prescription glasses
- glaucoma medication (1 year’s worth)
- sun glasses
- artificial tears
- allergy medication
